Doing A’amal for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala
Hadhrat Moulana Yunus Patel (R.A.) often mentioned,
“Do for Allah’s pleasure, and Allah will give you from his treasure.”
If one analyses this phrase in the light of his own tarbiyat, we will arrive at the question that every believer needs to ask when doing any good action; “Am I doing this action for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala?” Our nafs will lead us to believe that we are undoubtedly in the right and we are doing everything for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. The true answer to this question however will be borne out through our relationships with people.
A person could be making someone’s khidmat for a lengthy period, but when an argument erupts then the statements we make concerning what khidmat we feel we made for that person is what we need to then analyze. Remarks like, “I did so much for that person and he/she doesn’t ever appreciate it,” and “what didn’t I do for him/her,” are commonly used at times of argument. If we were doing for Allah Ta’ala then such statements will not be made.
When arguments or disagreements occur we must understand that Allah Ta’ala has created man with different temperaments. It is absolutely necessary that we exercise sabr on the temperament of others. If we need to correct or forward a comment it should always be done with wisdom and understanding.Decisions and corrections are daily occurrences. In Allah Ta’alas deen and Quraan Shareef there is no need for correction. It is the book for all time and remains kept in its pristine form as it was revealed to our beloved Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasalam).
The Quraan Shareef is undoubtedly a mercy unto mankind. It is indeed a sign of Allah Ta’alas love for us that Allah Ta’ala has revealed the Quraan Shareef. Such is its manifestation that the laws contained within it will never change and such is its barakat that what knowledge and taleem was gained from it hundreds of years ago, is the same taleem that we have learnt and Insha Allah Ta’ala it will be the same for future generations.
When one is trying to practice on deen, and is being scorned then we should look at the prescription Allah Ta’ala gave to Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasalam). It is contained in the Quraan Shareef, Surah Al Hijr, verses 97, 98 and 99: “Indeed We know that your chest (heart) is straightened by what they say. So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostate themselves before Him. And worship your Lord until comes to you that which is certain.”
· Glorify Allah Ta’ala
· Resort to salaat
· Continue worshipping Allah Ta’ala
THE ZIKR OF ALLAH TA’ALA IS A BALM FOR THE HURT ON THE HEARTS OF THE LOVERS OF ALLAH TA’ALA.
